Contemporary and Lyrical Dance Classes for Adults in Hoboken, NJ
Expressive contemporary and lyrical classes for adults, focused on musicality, floor work and storytelling. Move the way the music makes you feel, in an adults-only studio in Hoboken.

Who contemporary is for
Former dancers who miss expressive movement, ballet and jazz students who want something freer, and curious beginners.
What you'll learn
Floor work, release and suspension, lyrical phrasing, and choreography that tells a story through the music.
What to wear
Fitted clothes you can roll on the floor in. Bare feet or socks are fine.
Your first contemporary class
We warm up on the floor, work through across-the-floor phrases, then learn a short piece of choreography. Your teacher will offer simpler options for anything that feels new.

Contemporary and lyrical questions
What's the difference between contemporary and lyrical?
Contemporary draws on modern dance and floor work. Lyrical blends ballet and jazz with a focus on telling the song's story.
Do I need ballet experience?
No, though it helps. Beginner classes start from the basics.
